• What have you lost/gained?
• When we are rejected we hurt because we feel that something we wanted/anticipated was denied/removed—we did not have our way.
2 types of longings:
1. Real
2. Imagined
Real
• Time together
• Material favors
• Emotional validation
• Ego/status is society
Imagined
• Plans you had
• Anxiety build-up to perfectly happy and fulfilled future
• Emotional security-the thought that you are loved and appreciated makes life more enjoyable and meaningful
